Since our origins in 2007, FreeState Justice has provided assistance to over 100+ people navigating the name change process. FSJ recognizes the importance of having a name that affirms your gender identity and sense of self. With the help of a staff member, this birthed the “Story of My Name Project”, a collection of stories from transgender and gender non-conforming individuals about what their preferred name means to them in November 2014. FSJ also welcomes stories from allies who have a story to tell about someone close to them.
FSJ posts these stories monthly.
